This project was a system to translate blog updates into social media posts for musician Ed Hawke.
The challenge was to create a design system for turning blog posts into Instagram posts, while embodying existing branding. The challenge was to create something unique, eye-catching and easy-to-read.
To overcome these barriers, I developed a flexible 12x6 grid system for the layout. This allowed for consistent yet adaptable designs. I used the client's brand colours. I designed a clean typography system paired with custom illustrations. We developed Ed's handwritten typography as a key part of the brand years ago, and it’s still relevant today.
The final deliverables included a font style guide, 20 custom illustrations, and 14 layout templates. This system streamlined content creation.
